I am a college student with a major in IT and I just completed my first year. I do not have any certifications, but I have been doind this off to the side kind of repairs, upgrades, and typical maintence for friends and aquantances for quite some time. I have worked at a High School doing these kind of maintence and repairs also. I feel like making this a little bigger and start charging around town and make it not just a friendly deal. So how much should I charge?

That is, if they can get work. And even if they do, its likely to be in the retail or fast food sectors, which dont provide a living wage. Deagan, and others, are hoping to change that. With funding from the New York State Education Department (NYSED), she created an innovative class at BMCC that accelerates the acquisition of employable skills for non-English speakers, by combining instruction for English language learners (ells) with computer repair training that leads to industry-recognized, A+ certification and entry-level jobs often starting at $20 per hour.
